The Swami Rama Institute of Vocational Education and Research (SRIVERM), Malethi was founded in 2005 by Swami Hariharananda Bharati (Swami Hari) in order to provide much needed social and educational services to those living in the rugged Himalayan mountains of northern India. SRIVERM sits on 30 acres in the Himalayan foothills and provides a Public School which provides nursery school through eighth grade education to 129 village children from 30 poor villages; Vocational Training which provides courses in computers, plumbing, and electrical wiring; Herbal Gardens, a Bachelor of Education College serving 80 students; a Guest House, a Meditation Hall and residences, and a Staff and Youth Hostel.
